http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-vista/share-a-printer states the system with the printer can share the printer with anybody on the same network.

You didn't tell us how the printer is connected to your network and what operating system you are using

I'm going to give us basic explanation and hope this will help.

Computer 1 will needs to be always on and will act as print server - in the printer properties - click on shearing tab and put a tick in the option ' share this printer '

Computer 2 let the device manager discover your sheared printer

------------------

The down side is 1 PC needs to be on all the time, but there is a solution, you can get very inexpensive USB print servers ( WiFi or wired ) that can connect to your network, then your printer becomes a network printer and any of your PCs can connect to it via IP address, but this is different question.

Yes, both things are possible. Printer Sharing: First of goto your PC, and within properties of installed printers, allow Printer Sharing to all. Then go to your notebook. goto Add Printers, choose network printer, and add the required ones to your laptop. Now whenever u wish to get some print from your notebook, make sure the PC as well as printers are switched ON too. If you do not wish do keep your PC switched on, then you will have to purchase another hardware called Print Server. This is a small box, you will attach both your printers to this Print Server, and then attach this print server to you Wireless Router. In this scenario your router has to be ON ( which usually is always ON ). File Sharing: Goto specific files or folders on your PC, right click, choose properties, and there choose File Sharing.

You can send the data file you wish to print in mail to the other

computer and it can print it. You could also save the file data

you want to print to a USB flash drive use the flash drive in

the other computer and print your data.
