I am tired of paying high prices for ink cartridges. Is the ink refill kits that I have seen on sale work well. or are they a waste of money?

No, they are not a waste of money. I have used them for 5 years. Contra to popular claims they do not damage your printer. They save a fortune in ink. The claims of sub standard ink is also not true. If such ink were substandard would people repeatedly buy them? I have just done a test picture as last month I bough a Canon Pixma MP 610 and I printer a picture using the ink supplied by Canon for it. I have refilled the cartridges several times since I bought it - I am high user of ink - and today I re-printed the same picture and they look identical! And the same goes for the ink damages your printer claim. No it does not, nor does it invalidate you warranty. This only applies if you have let the ink run dry and that damages the printer but that same thing applies if you let original ink run dry and it ruins the printer - which it can. Also given that to buy a new printer with ink in it is cheaper than buying original ink in most cases then what have you got to loose? You just buy another printer - but it will not damage your printer!

There are going to be some inks that are not as good. Everything you buy is the same. But once you found a kit and that is suitable - bingo! You can also get kits that have specific inks for specific makes of printer such as Canon and HP, not just universal kits.

Not all cartridges re-fill well thought and this because the manufactures make their printers to reject refills as they want you to buy their high priced new ones. Lexmark are now allmost impossible to refill as the printers wont recognise the cartridge as new because there is a chip in it.

With Epson you need a chip re-setter for them or they wont print with re-fills either. Canon and HP, I own 2 Canons and 1 HP, are great and will accept refills just wont reset the ink levels. Once you get the hang of re-filling you will save a lot of money.

We have HP ink cartridges, and we buy the refill kit at Wal-Mart, and it works very well. I'm not sure how much it is, but I know it's cheaper than buying a new ink cartridge every time you run out of ink. Sometimes you can find $10 refill kits at Big Lots. HIH!

Refill kits are a lot cheap than buying a new cartridge. make sure the printer allow refills. some printers dont allow it. need a chip re setter to make the printer no that it has to start the counter again.

I believe that if you take your cartridge, be it black, or color in as soon as it runs out, it will take the refill ink properly. I take mine to Walgreen's ,or Office Max.

Well... it depends. They are generally a waste of money because they are filled with substandard ink and will clog/jam/muck up your printer.
