Printer Spooler in Windows Vista is a notorious troublemaker, so you will know that anyway. One solution is to completely pass through the printer spooler and that's how. To begin, go to the system tool "Services" to, where you specify that the "Printer Spooler" in the sequel (= when you restart the PC) is no longer active. Once that's done, then the settings of the printer, which is a matter of requesting the 'Properties' it. On the Advanced tab you can specify that you want to print directly to the printer and thus pass the above closed Printer Spooler.

I'm not trying to be an *** but all of you forgot the obvious, which I implemented. I put the software disk in my CD ROM Drive and reinstalled everything from day 1. The printer doesn't know the difference between day 1 and day 1001. Anyway, after I reinstalled everything and printed the test page my printer works marvelously. Some asshole technician I called at Epson told me he would charge me ONLY $150 dollars to diagnose and remotely fix it. I said "**** you assholes" and hung up. If you want anything done right, fix it YOURSELF. Rebooting/Reinstalling is like making everything new again. And it always works for me. **** all that other noise.

There are several ways to resolve printer spooler error, probably because there are many variations of this error. The error caused by faulty software can be resolved by deleting all the information found in the directory. Thereafter, navigate to the Control Panel, click on Administrative Tools and then services icon. Find the service labeled Print Spooler, highlight it and restart the process. If that doesn’t work, the program might be corrupted. Click on start, then Run. Search for the document labeled services.msc, and this will trigger the opening of another window. On this window, scroll down and click “Print Spooler”. Check its setting and turn on automatic mode. Click Okay, and restart the machine. If you’re lucky, this might be all you have to do. Still doesn’t work? Navigate to the Add/Remove Programs screen of the Control Panel. Find the all the software responsible for making the printer run including the drivers, and uninstall them. Be sure to be thorough about it, or the problem may not be solved. Download the latest copy of your printer’s software from the manufacturer and reinstall it.

Go to Start / Run and type in "services.msc" without quotation marks, then press Enter or click OK.
In the window that opens (Services) look for "Print Spooler" on the right
Right-click "Print Spooler" and select "Properties".
Click on the "Recovery" tab and change all 3 drop-down boxes to "Restart The Service".
Make sure the 2 text boxes underneath say "1" in them.
Click Ok until you are back at the Services window, close it and you're good to go.
Go back into the properties of the "Print Spooler" tab and be sure to click Start to restart the Print Spooler service and it will restart the service immediately.
The Print spooler depends on the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service. Is this service disabled? Go to services.msc look for RPC. Check state: Automatic
