you can use almost any printer with Vista, including the one you have no. Just download the driver from HP

You can use any printer with Vista but you need to go to the printer website be it Lexmark HP or Cannon when you get to the site click on the downloads some are on the top of the screen and some run down the side. Find your printer in the downloads and make sure you get the download for Vista and not XP there is not much difference in the two programs but they do bump heads now and then. Good Luck Woody

You do not need an HP printer since you have an HP computer. As long as you have the proper drivers any printer will work in XP or Vista. Check the manufactures website for drivers. Your old HP printer might still work for vista, or if your XP computer is still hooked up you could share the printer from that computer to use on the Vista one.

You're HP Deskjet should work fine in Vista. Here are the instructions to install the driver.

If you do opt to get a new printer, you don't need to get a HP printer. Pretty much any brand will work just fine. Canon, Lexmark, Brother, doesn't matter.

ANY printer will do as long as it's drivers support Vista. I find HP are the best price for price, try one of the network ready multi-function (scanner, copier, printer) units, these are getting very cheap and if you ever need to add computers to the network these make all the functions available to all machines.

You can use more or less any printer with Vista, if the Vista drivers are available (they're often built in).

Stick with known brands, such as HP or Canon, which are well supported and their cartridges are available widely.

Be very careful because that operating system doesn`t recognize but a few drivers.
