Will a printer for Windows XP work with Windows Vista?

I have the HP Deskjet F340 All in one right now but will this printer work on Windows Vista? I noticed on the cd it says 98, Me, 2000 and XP. I've heard that there is something you download if it won't install.

Yes, it will, you will have to download your drivers for vista from HP.com under support and drivers, type in your model, and then vista, whatever vista your using, (e.i. Vista 64)

or you can go here.

The *best* option would be to get a new printer. You CANNOT install the XP driver and expect it to work. Won't happen. A way around it would be to find a compatible printer driver that came with Vista. For instance, I have an HP Photosmart 1000 printer which is not supported under Vista. However, the printer works with the Vista Deskjet 970Cse printer driver. Of course, it all depends.

You can check if there are drivers for Vista online. However it's a pretty old printer so it's unlikely.
