Whenever I have an error with the documenting im printing, I pull up the printing icon from the bottom right, and try to right click delete. Most of the time, it says it is deleting, but in all reality, it really never does. I have seen discussions on this, and have found ways to delete the print job. My question is, why doesn't Microsoft fix this error?.. It's such a hassel and it drives me nuts that they have an option there, but it doesnt work. Obviously they are aware of the issue, it's a major dysfunction with their printers/computers. What is the deal?

When you send the data for the print job it leaves your computer and goes to the printer, at least until the memory buffer on the printer fills up. As the print job progresses and memory is freed up it will accept more data and refill the vacant memory.

You can only cancel the data that hasn't been sent. Once it leaves your computer Windows has no control over what happens to it. It's not a Windows issue, the problem is with the data in the printer's buffer. That is why you must turn off the printer to cancel the print job, that flushes the printer's buffer and allows it to start over.

Microsoft make neither printers nor computers. They deal only in software

Have you ever tried hitting the 'Cancel' button on your printer??

Works for me everytime.
