so i refilled my ink for my canon mp220 printer - printer and computer did not detect the ink as being full.

went back to the guy and told him that the computer is not detecting the catridge as having ink - refilled it for me and over fills the colour catridge! of course me being a girl and knowing nothing about computers, goes home and puts it into the printer- its leaked all over inside and im waiting for it to dry.

boyfriends going back tomorrow to try and get a refund? what could we say? do u think he will not fix it for me? its his fault he overleaked it...

can the printer be fixed?

The Refill guy is an idiot. An MP 220 will register as empty after being refilled.

No matte rhow much ink he puts in there it willnot register as full.

Tell him it doesn't work and it has now leaked.

As for the excess ink you can just blot that up with a link free cloth.

Your printer will be fine. If you want the cartridge to register as full you need to buy a new one.

If he was a good refiller he will clean it for free (that is what we do). Sounds like an electrical issue, which he should have tested. Even the refill cartridges are detected as long as the electronics are good, the ink levels just don't work.

Just tell him you are not happy with the service and you want.

1. Money back or cartridges that work (have him test them infront of you)

2. Printer cleaned for free

If he does nothing and you need to clean it yourself, get damp paper towels. They will clean most of it. If there are parts you can't reach, get some q-tips. I am sorry you had a bad experiance with the refiller

Put loads of sheets of kitchen paper where the ink cartridges go and mop it up. Keep on doing it until the ink gets less and less. It will eventually dry up and should be fine as I've have ink leaks and the printer has survived. Tell the person who filled it you want a new cartridge as he ruined your old one.

normally there is a sponge over the ink carts park position which hopefully caught most of it. But if the printer has been sliding about in a car then it may be pot luck if the printer will work. doubt they will give you a refund unless there is any kind of clear section on the cart that can show you how much ink is in it, If not how would they know how much ink to put in it.

A bit late but this is one of the good reasons why ink refills are a bad idea.

tell the guy or the company he worlks for that your not happy about whats happened and ask them if they are prepared to do anything about it. say when you got home and put the ink in the printer then ink cartridge lid exploided off or split causing the leak. x
