there are several possible reasons, the simplest one is that in the printer settings it is set to "work offline" and you simply un-tick the box and it will reset.

Find the Printer in your Devices & Printers list, right click and check

While there open the Properties and check if there is anything perhaps stuck in the print queue, if there is then delete it.

You can try switching the printer off, unplug from the mains, shutdown the PC, reboot and then plug in the Printer and switch it on, if set to offline it should ask if you want to go online.

There are a number of possible reasons. Most can be fixed by switching everything off then switching it on again. If that doesn't work, check the printer lead carefully and make sure that the paper path in the printer is clear. For more specific answers, we'd need to know what type of printer and how it's connected.

a. Click Start, go to Control Panel and select Hardware and Sound.

b. Click Printer.

c. If the Printer is offline, it shows “Offline” status. If the Printer is online it shows “Ready”.

d. If the Printer is offline, set it to online.

e. Right-click on the printer and select “Use Printer Online”.

f. The display should change to ready when the printer is set to online.

Step 2:

If still you are facing issues, then update the printer driver. This should fix the problem.

I think just reinstall the printer, its 100% works.
