I have an HP Deskjet All-in-One 1050 J410 Printer I got in 2009. I put the ink in the cartridge a year later and put it away in my closet because I had no use for it until about a month ago. Brought it back out pulled out the ink cartridges just to make sure they were still good and ink came off on my fingers from the cartridges. Plugged everything in went to print a test page and nothing comes out on the paper. The printer is just printing blank pages. I downloaded every single driver update & hp printer doctor I could find and all the scans come back green, nothing wrong with the actual printer. Do I need to buy new ink or???

You need new ink cartridges, the ink probably dried up after nearly 3 years. You can try shaking the ink cartridge and try printing again, but my guess is it won't help

Update your drivers. Device Manager is a program that shows a list of all devices connected to your computer so that you can update them. Here are the steps required to update your drivers:

1. Click Start | Control Panel.

2. Click System and Security | Administrative Tools | Computer Management.

3. Select Device Manager from the left side panel.

4. Right click a device, select Properties.

5. Click Driver tab and then Update Driver Software button.

6. A new wizard shall open. Please follow it.

7. Restart the computer when you are finished.

sounds like maybe your ink head is messed up on the cartridge, maybe buy a cheap black cartidge only and see if that solves it then buy a new color one too if it solves it.
