I know there's been alot of questions here about the exact same thing but I didn't found any of them helpful. I have a Lexmark X1185 and the problem I can't do anything, print/scan/copy/fax. It also says that it cannot communicate. I've already reinstalled it and downloaded the driver in their website. So what is the problem? And when I open the printer to change the catridge, the cartridges doesn't move and just stay hidden. What should I do? Is the printer broken?

Unfortunately, based on the identical experience I had with a Lexmark 1200 Series printer, It is indeed broken. The solution was to buy another printer. If you buy a brand of printer different from Lexmark, you very likely will have another problem with the driver software. An answerer by the name of QD1956 helped me - this is what they supplied...

How to solve the LexBce Server problem (located at C:\WINDOWS\system32\LEXBCES.EXE)

Description: This is installed by Lexmark printers, and some Dell printers which are made by Lexmark, to configure the onboard network print server.

But if you replace it with another printer and remove the Lexmark printing software, this server causes problems.

Just going in and disabling this service will make it so that print spooler service will no longer startup, which effectively disables printing on your computer.

But this can be fixed by removing the LexBceS dependency.

To remove the dependency you should follow this guide.

Click the Start button and on the right side of the menu, find the My Computer entry

-Right click on it and choose manage.

-In the Computer Management windows that opens, click on the + besides the Services and Applications entry.

-In the expanded menu, click the Services entry.

-On the right side, scroll down to the lexbce server entry, click on it and click on Stop the service.

-Do the same with the Print Spooler entry a little farther down.

Once you are done, close the window (click on the OK button until you get through it all).

Click on the Start Button again and then on run (on the right side too)

-In the windows that appears, write the following string (or copy it from this document and paste it there): sc config spooler depend= RPCSS

*** Important note: Notice the space after depend= . This is necessary ***

-Click run.

This will disable the lexbce problem and start your print spooler and everything should be ok. Somebody I know had the same problem and this technique fixed it.

Restart the computer

In the event that you still run into problems after that, read the articles located here:

Hope this helps

Good luck

you want to uninstall the motive force first (from the upload and eliminate programmes contained in the administration panel), then re-installation the motive force following the unique training - as this can allow you to recognize at which aspect you connect the USB and turn the printer on and so on. This ensue with our Lexmark. solid success
