Canon MP970 printer will not print. There is no error message displayed, it simply pauses the queue 20 seconds after you add a job to the queue. What do I do?

You may not need to go as far as uninstalling/reinstalling.
I used to have the same problem with an HP printer. Usually the problem was the computer not the printer, and simply shutting the computer down and starting it up again did the trick of clearing the print queue. If it's stuck on the first print job, it can't do the ones that follow.
Also, occassionally the paper may not be able to pull through, so it never hurts to take the paper out and put it in again in case the paper tray sensor isn't letting you know that's the problem.
good luck!

Try uninstalling it and reinstalling. Or run the maintenance functions like alignment or head/roller cleaning.
All of the drivers and user manual are on the Canon website for free. Read through the manual for troubleshooting tips.
I nothing is happening then you may have a cartridge fault. You don't say what happens after the 20 seconds but if nothing check for out of date or empty cartridges
