I have had this printer for about a month and a half. It came with ink. Do you know how I can check the ink level? When I print it shows that it is full, but I was told from where I bought it that the ink cartriges are not full, so I would need to replace it soon. How will the printer notify me when to put new ink? Please answer seriously. Thank you....

Below are the steps to check the Ink level on a HP C5180 All in One printer:

1) Press Setup.

2) Press to select Tools, then press OK.

3) Select Display Ink Gauge and press OK. The ink levels are displayed. (The ink volume shown is approximate)

If an icon is empty, the corresponding cartridge may need to be replaced soon.

I have the same model, for couple years and there is a popup should come up notifying you if it is low, mine shows full also until that popup, how long it will last is depending on how much you use it. I can get about 400 pages from one cartridge printing fast draft...less if do custom or photo.
