Yes, I know they are expensive, but I heard there are mini ones. The reason I want one is to make guitar picks (cause there so freakin expensive) and various little guitar parts etc. So a link and brand name would be great, I have very little knowledge on them so knowledge and parts/plastic needed that are compatible with the printer would be great. Thanks in advance

A 3 d Printer is around $20k and not $1000. Look it up if you are referring to a real 3D printer.

A lot has changed in the last years, the 3D printers are more reliable and also easy to use. Some models starts as low as 1000$, those are great products but normally come as a printer kit, they therefore need to be assembled and require maintenance.

Desktop printers which come ready to go start around 2000$. Afterward the price for filament can add up depending on how much you use it. It therefore is good to look for a printer which allows you to buy cheap filament.

Most of them seem to be in the range of $1,100 to $1,500. When I first saw your question I wondered if the materials used for 3D would be sturdy and flexible enough for a guitar pick. I did a little research and apparently you can produce a perfectly replicated guitar pick. They shouldn't call them 3D printers. They're not printing. They're replicators. The dictionary lists 20 meanings for the word "print" and none of them describe what these machines do. I wonder if they can produce eye glass frames.

Personal 3D printers can go from $400-$2000 these days. They use ABS or PLA plastic filament, and most can use both.

Here is a good list of the best 3D printers from last year: http://techwombat.com/roundup-best-cheap-3d-printers-2012-2013/
