Hi, Okay so someone from Yahoo answers told me to get this program called IrfanView so I could fix a problem I was having printing an image so it would fill up the entire paper without any white border and without any part of the image being cut off.

I'm trying to get a 1280 X 800 image to print from my computer so the image fills up the entire 8.5 X 11 printer page but I don't know how to adjust the settings to do this.

How do you set IrfanView for 11 width, 8.5 height?

Every time I try to custom set it for 8.5 X 11 it says the resulting printed image size on paper will be 10.7 X 8.0 inches.

How do I set a 1280 X 800 image exactly for a 8.5 X 11 paper so it prints without a white border and doesn't cut off the image?

This is how I did it:

Pulled up a picture.

Select Print under the main FILE menu.

Select the printer to use (it's probably already there.)

Then click Landscape. Next to that is the size. A-6 is the default on my system. Next go to the "Printer Setup" button and change the paper size.

Next you should pick "Best fit to page" or "Stretch to page"

You'll probably want to play with the "Custom" and "Scale" and aspect ratio buttons until you get what you want.

Almost all laser printers leave a white margin that you'll have to trim off.

If you don't want the picture to look stretched out, you should crop it so that the ratio of the rectangle you want to print is 8.5 to 11. Save that as another file and print it.

I don't do a lot of printing with Irfanview, but I use it like crazy for scanning stuff. It's neat and free, and it can do this stuff once you get used to it.

Irfanview isn't a commonplace application interior the printing marketplace, hence do not go by what you spot. it truly is basically a small image viewing application used extra for its report administration features somewhat than for imaging. have self belief photoshop. when you're ordering, be particular to apply a community printer service (somewhat of an internet service) so that you may have some attempt prints to verify the way it is going to tutor. colorations can variety somewhat from reveal screen to paper.
