I have a HP Officejet j6480 all-in one that was working fine until the latest HP update which removed my print driver some how and now I can't even run a clean reinstall after this. Now when the install detects the printer and tries to set it up it will ask for a file "hpzst64x.dll" from a PDL_COMMON disk (which does not exist). I have uninstalled and cleaned off every HP file on my hard drive and registry 4 times now, but I still get the same file request every time. The printer is connected wireless to my my router and networked. Works fine with all other computers on the network and I can manually install the print driver in order to print from the problem computer, but no other options can be used. Also my XP OS at start up sees my printer as new and still tries to load drivers at every boot up, even though the print driver is already there and working. It asks for the same missing file and then fails to install when it can't have it.

If you couldn't find it on HP site easy, you could try a program I use. It automatically updates your drivers, saves me a lot of time and frustration. Take a look here for those drivers.

Go to Device manager>Printer>uninstall

Unplug USB cable

Go to Add/Remove Program

Uninstall all HP Programmes

Restart

Plug the USB cable

Auto wizard will pop-up

continue

insert the HP CD

and continue till it finishes complete install

Enjoy.

If Windows couldn't find a driver for it, you have no choice but to spend the time to download it from HP or order the CD. It's a DeskJet... the driver shouldn't be THAT big of a download file.
