Question:
HP Deskjet 1050 J410 Wont print my documents?
2011-12-12 14:22:45 UTC
Yesterday i purchased HP Deskjet 1050 J410 Printer from my local store. I followed the instructions to proper install (all the alignment test and whatnot) in the correct order. However i noticed that the printer wont print anything i want. The printing que wont show anything being printed altho i told it to. From where im standing, this looks like a software issue, since i can use HP software to print the new alignment pages and clean action.

Things i have tried:

Reinstalling Software
Reinstalling Drivers
Reinstalling Drivers and Software
Reinstalling different drivers from the HP website
Rebooting pc in between all of the above
Rebooting the printer itself in all of the above

All i can make it print is the alignment page, clean page and Diagnostif Information page. Scanning seems to work flawlessly.

System

Windows 7 Home Premium
Intel i7 2600k
GF 460GTX
8 Gigs of ram

Why go through all this trouble, contact HP tech support

Contact HP you are under warranty

Here is the HP site, You have several options. On line live chat, email or telephone tech support (Telephone support is not free unless it is still under warranty)

1-800-474-6836

On line live chat would be the fastest

I use, and like their service

It is FREE 24/7

Have you selected the HP as Default Printer as Windows 7 selects Microsoft OneNote as the default destination for any item to be printed. Go to Control Panel and select Devices and Printers, right-click on HP Deskjet 1050 and make sure 'Select as Default Printer' is checked. Hopefully all should be good.

EDIT - OK, are the drivers installed specifically for Win7x64 OS?

EDIT#2 - A long shot, are you using it as a direct cable connection, or via an unpowered USB hub (grasping at straws here)?
