When I print normal text documents from my macbook to my network printer at work (RICOH) it prints quickly. However, when printing multiple flyers or text documents with even a small photo it will print one at a time, then spool for a bit and then print another one and it winds up taking a very long time. Is there any way that I can fix this?

Network printing problems can occur anywhere on the network so it may take some trial and error testing to pin down where the problem lies.

As it is printing straight text OK but is struggling with anything more complicated it is possibly using a generic driver. Check that it is using a suitable updated driver for the actual model of printer and that it is set up correctly.

You may need to start digging into CUPS for spooling info....

Ricoh has an 120+ page PDF guide for network printing....
