Just installed my old Epson RX420 software onto my friends computer and when I go to the Epson smart panel an error window comes up saying "C:\windows\twain_32\mftwain\cfg\com\applications.xml Not Found!" The printer is printing ok and the copier is working fine but it's just the scanning & saving through the Epson smart panel that isn't working. I've gone to the Epson website and downloaded the new drivers but with no joy. Anyone know what the error file is?

It means the scanner drivers did not install correctly.

Turn off all security programs Virus and spyware.

Reinstall the software again. (You may have to uninstall first)

Now reactivate you security software and reboot.

This should work.

Twain drivers are often temperamental and can cause problems.

Try installing just the scanner software and see if that helps.

If no joy remove the printer software completely and reinstall.

If still no joy go to the epson web site and try installing the full suite of software from there there could be a corrupt file in your copy.

TWAIN is the scanning software. Get the printer's drivers disc and reinstall the scanning drivers.
