Problem with my printer?

I have new Windows 7, and im trying to install my Lexmark 2735 printer to my asus laptop. it started working the first time i tried to install it but i canceled it accidently. and after i tried so many times to install it again it kept saying it had an error.
I went on > My devices and Printers > Lexmark Printer. and it had troubleshooting. so i pressed troubleshoot and i solved one of the problems but now it says its suddenly doesnt have a driver and i need to install one.
I dont get how it doesnt have a driver or where to install it. I have a disc for the printer and the plug to connect it to the laptop but its not working!! HELP :(

Close all open software applications.



Insert the printer software CD.Double-click the Lexmark 2735 Series CD icon on your desktop. The Lexmark 2735 Series installer dialog is displayed. On this dialog are the Install icon and the Help installer icon.

Double-click the Install icon.

Complete the authentication notice, and then click OK. You are guided through the introduction.

Click Continue. You are guided through the Read Me files.

Click Continue. You are guided through the license agreement.

From the pop up menu at the top, choose a language.

Click Continue.

Click Agree.

Click Continue.

Select a destination to install your printer software, and then click Continue.

Click Install.

go to Lexmark website and download the windows 7 drivers, should be free? Install the driver first, restart, before you plug on the hardware?

Did you mean the Z735? I saw nothing on the 2735. Anyways, here's the link to the driver; it should download automatically. Try that and report if it solves your problem. Windows troubleshooting doesn't do crap, so for future reference it's best to just ignore that.
