Printer will not respond to commands. It won't delete job in query. I can't delete the printer. Printer won't print. It won't do anything. How do I get it to respond and clear the print job? Thanks

If those suggestions fail you might have jobs stuck in the print spooler. To clear the print spooler do this.

1) open up the run command and type: net stop spooler

You will get a message that says the print spool service is stopping

2) open up the run command and type: spool

You will see a bunch of folders, one will be a printers folder, open it and delete anything in that folder.

3) open the run command and type: net start spooler

You will get a message that says the print spooler service is starting.

Now the print spooler is cleared of any jobs reboot your pc and test, you should be fine.

Good-luck

turn off the printer wait for a few minute then turn it on. If the problem persist you need to fix your printer spooler, do this Unload the applications and drivers for the printer, ensure there were no other printers installed, and then reboot and reinstall the applications and drivers. Also do make sure to configure your spooler by clicking the Control Panel then Administrative tools then Services.

Unplug the power to the printer, wait 1 minute, delete the job from the queue, plug the printer back in.

Fixed.

Actually you are all right. Turned off copier. Then knew that the spooler is the problem--as the former HP tech said above--and from working with tech s on other copiers. In the troubleshooting header for my Dell PC, if you open that program, then you open the "troubleshooting for printers" command, it will diagnose and give you a choice to fix the printer and it came up with the "fix the spooler." Selected that and the file FINALLY disappeared and I can now use the printer.

Cancel the print job and restart the computer.

Turn it off and on again. That will clear the print queue.
