I'm trying to disable the print on both sides feature on this printer. For some reason the default setting is set to print on both sides, but I don't want that. Currently, I have to manually go into the printer settings, go to the port it's connected to, then make sure the 'untitiled' option is selected and with print on one side. When I try to change the default setting to print one side and try to apply it, it automatically goes back to 'print on both sides.'

Is there a way to change the default printer setting to print on one side only?

On Windows 7 this worked to make 1-sided printing a default. Open the Control Panel and click on Hardware and Sound. Find and click on Device and Printers. A list of external hardware such as monitors and printers will come up. Find the device and right-click on the icon. In the drop-down menu select Printer Properties and then select your exact printer if another drop-down menu appears.

A pop-up will appear. Select the Advanced tab on the top. In the lower left there is a button for Printing Defaults. Press it. There will be a drop-down menu in the lower right to select between one-sided and two-side printing. Be sure to hit Apply when you see a button for it.
