Printer Problem..Hp Laser Jet 1200?
?

Ok guys here's the problem.

I recently installed a HP laser jet 1200 printer to my computer.I know its dead old printer but it works though driver support is discontinued for this product.

I have installed Laser jet PCL 5e driver.Issues are with spooling..I am trying to print a pdf doc of 55 pages,Used print on both side options in printer properties. The job stucks at half of the spooling session(half of the memory spools for the initial batch of printing for 1 side) and not a single page prints..Though the message appear like "After the pages print turn em over to the paper stack and click continue" but nothing prints.I tried clicking continue the the whole spooling process completed still no prints.

I tried universal printing driver 6l but it gives no option for duplex printing..I have printed test page several times now and i find no problem with the printer's operation..

I also unchecked spooling option from the printer's properties and cancelled all current prints, cleared spooler with cmd command.Tried again this time the printer gave only 4 prints then an "error-printing" calamity dropped.

I am sick and tired now,now at yahoo as a last resort.I hope you guys call help me in this regard.

try printing in batches. print 10 pages duplex per session and see if that helps. when you say you have unchecked the spooling option is the machine now printing direct to printer? if yes then the 10 page batches should help you if no then try printing direct to printer. it should send the info down in batches and give the memory time to recover

Seems between PCL5 and 6, they dropped the "manual duplex" option, maybe for the reasons you mentioned.

I would suggest just printing pages manually, forget "duplexing" options.

What you do is print odd pages first, select pages to print like 1,3,5,7,9

Print those, turn the stack over, and print pages 10,8,6,4,2. Repeat for remaining 45 pages.

In some cases, Adobe Reader has a print option called "Subset" (just below print range), where you can select all odd pages or all even pages. It also gives the option to "reverse pages" for the reverse order for the back pages - try it...

Do a simple test with about 4 pages first, to make sure you get the flipping over correct.

What you do is print peculiar pages first, opt for pages to print like 1,3,5,7,9 Print those, flip the stack over, and print pages 10,eight,6,four,2. Repeat for remaining 45 pages. In some circumstances, Adobe Reader has a print option called "Subset" (slightly below print range), the place that you would be able to decide on all unusual pages or all even pages. It additionally gives the alternative to "reverse pages" for the reverse order for the again pages - try it... Do a easy test with about 4 pages first, to make sure you get the flipping over proper.
