Everytime i go to print a message comes up and says that the print spooler service isnt running. I went to the control panel and made sure it was on automatic and i started it and i even tried restarting the computer and printer but as soon as i apply all the changes it still says the print spooler isnt running. My printer was working perfectly fine and just one day it did this. It says i dont have it installed but i know i do because its been installed for a few years now. Any suggestions on what could be wrong?

This should fix your problem

Go to Start / Run and type in "services.msc" without quotation marks, then press Enter or click OK.

In the window that opens (Services) look for "Print Spooler" on the right

Right-click "Print Spooler" and select "Properties".

Click on the "Recovery" tab and change all 3 drop-down boxes to "Restart The Service".

Make sure the 2 text boxes underneath say "1" in them.

Click Ok until you are back at the Services window, close it and you're good to go.

Go back into the properties of the "Print Spooler" tab and be sure to click Start to restart the Print Spooler service and it will restart the service immediately.

The Print spooler depends on the Remote Procedure Call (RPC) service. Is this service disabled? Go to services.msc look for RPC. Check state: Automatic

Go to start and where it says search, type services. there is going to be only one choice, click it, and a windows should pop up. there's a lot of different thing's, but you have to look for Print Spooler. when you find it, right click and go to properties. there should be a drop down menu somewhere in the middle of the window that pops up. change whatever it says there to Automatic. restart your computer and try printing again. It should now work.

open the control panel and click on administrative tools. Click on the 'services' icon. On the right-hand side of the screen you see a list of services. Scroll down until you see a service labeled 'Print Spooler'. Double click on it and see if the field labeled 'startup type' is set to automatic. If not use the drop down menu and select 'Automatic' Click apply and then click 'Start' Click ok and close out the windows. If the 'Print Spooler' service is not running then no printers will show up in your print folder. Hope this helps.

The most common problem is the printer driver software has become corrupted or Windows no longer thinks it's installed.

Try uninstalling any software that came with the printer. Then reboot, and try to re-install it.
