I have a epson wf-2540 printer and it s fairly new I got it last december, and it has not been working. Every time I turn it on, and I have left it off and unplug for an extend period of time before trying again, it makes a loud shrill noise before saying it has a paper jam. I have checked up and down this machine and there is no paper in the machine. I have even tried changing the ink cartridges based on what I saw happened to other people and it makes the same noise and says it has a paper jam. Any ideas how to fix it?

As it is still under warranty contact epson support for a repair. Don't fiddle otherwise you will void the warranty

I've had this work for me with various different pieces of electronic equipment.

Shut off the printer. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer. Hold the "On" button in for at least 10 seconds; this will fully discharge all components in the printer.

Plug the power cord back in and turn it on.

Hope this helps your situation.

look at your owners manual and/or the epson website
