i can not add a printer. my wife got a printer from work it is a dell 924 and i have the cd but i can not?

add it. i am useing xp, it will show up on plug and play but the cd will not start on its own. When i go to run set up it will go through all the step but nothing will happen. If i down laod the the drivers then it will not read the plug and play. i have no tech suport so hopefuly someone can let me know what to do i have had error codes 2 and 28 from windows add hardware. please give as much detaila as possible and if you need more infor please email me at [e-mail] sub printer

you can download and install the newest version of driver from the dell site:

this is probably better than messing with the cd anyway

Depending on which device is failing, you may see either of two different messages. This code means that the device loader (DevLoader) did not load a device. When this device is a Root Bus DevLoader (for example, ISAPNP, PCI, or BIOS), the following message is displayed

Contact your computer manufacturer to get an updated BIOS for your computer.

if u answer mine about the hp photosmart 1115 ill help you. im a real whiz with printers. xcept i cant figure out my problem.
