My ink jets are about to run out, both color and black. I heard you can usually get more color out by blow drying it and put it back in so you can get the last of it. Do you have any tips? Also is there a place I can get my 56 & 57 Black & Color from HP cheaper? No online websites please!!! Just stores thanks!!!

Most major retail stores (office supply, electronics and department stores) sell the HP ink cartridges for the same prices (suggested retail price). The retailer's profit margin is low even at full retail because their cost from HP is so high! When you do find a sale on HP cartridges, it's very rarely more than $2 off. The only way to find HP-brand ink for significantly less is to shop online and, even then, the savings is rarely more than 20% off retail.

I have an HP Photosmart C6280 that requires SIX different ink cartridges (Black, Yellow, Magenta, Light Magenta, Cyan & Light Cyan). Instead of paying close to $90 for a full round of HP replacement cartridges, I've tried a few alternatives with very good results!

I'd suggest that you check out Cartridge World, who sell their own brand of compatible ink for 30-35% less than HP. It has consistently been high quality and the page yield has been higher than I expected. Go to www.cartridgeworldusa.com to locate the closest store to you.

OfficeMax also has a line of compatible cartridges, but I'm not sure if they're available in store or only online.

Anytime you let an ink jet sit too long without using it you run the risk of clogging the nozzles. its always a good idea to print something at least once a week. When its "on" some printers will get warm, that will help the ink to dry out faster. As to saving energy...that's very debatable, yes Energy Star helps but to what extent. If you run an all-in-one (and a large one at that) turning it off may save energy, but if its just a little printer without a lot of features I doubt you would notice any difference in you electric bill. If you feel you would be doing something for the "eco system" then by all means turn it off when not in use. However turning it back on (with warm up time figured in) you might be using more energy that had you just left it in sleep mode!

That won't work, You can't really buy it any cheaper, I would suggest getting a laser jet they last longer. I work at Wal-Mart, HP charges us a high markup to buy ink from them, Blame HP for the high prices. There needs to be inquiry to this by the FTC
