We/I am looking for an color laserjet printer that will have an long sustainable life on our desk. We print upwards of 50 sheets nightly, mostly black, so the color is a bonus, and we do want it. We're looking for printer longevity, as well as ink longevity, something that doesn't run loud, doesn't run hot and would be a bonus if it was wireless (but not a necessity). Windows Vista 64 bit support is a must.

We have been looking hard at the HP CP2025dn.

Your thoughts, ideas and suggestions?

(our budget for this is around/under $400.)

Thanks.

The one that has the best support, warranty and the lowest cost media. This will depend on the dealers in your vicinity. The output from colour lasers or inkjet printers within a price range are all similar. The total combined cost is what counts. Many have little repair and technical support or it is prohibitively expensive, while other, although costing very little initially, cost up to fifty percent more for ink cartridges etc.

I use HP, and have found that Lexmark are the most expensive printer on the market to own over a twelve month period (although they are really cheap to purchase.) That might not be the case where you live. I live in Australia.

Probably the Dell 3130CN. Personally I use the HP Color LaserJet 2600n and it seems to be fine in print quality and toner longetivity (the toner cartridge will probably leak before all of it runs out in 3 years like mine). Noise is always an issue with a laser printer and there's really no quiet laser printer on the market.
