Question:
What are your recommendations for an All-in-one printer?

I need the following features:
* Color Printer (color laser preferred)
* Wireless network connectivity
* Scanner - MUST scan directly to PDF. The All-in-one I was using before (HP Photosmart 3300) would only scan JPGs. This was completely unacceptable.
* USB ports to read flash drives
* Built-in memory card reader would be nice, but not mandatory

Money is not really an object - but I'm hoping to spend less than $300. I'm looking for a high quality all-in-one for personal/home business use. I'm looking for big name brands, too (HP, Samsung, Lexmark). I do not want any faxing capabilities, but if the only model you know of has a fax built in, that's fine.

Shopping for All-in-one's is always hit and miss. It always seems like all the features are there, then you take it home and you are sadly disappointed. Any suggestions are welcome.

You will not get a color laser printer for that kind of money, you are stuck with an ink jet type of printer. If you are saying money is not an object, why are you quoting $300. I could not suggest any particular one, since HP is the only equipment I use, including my cameras and desktop computer. My other computers are Dell. Most places (for example Staples Office Supplies) will have printers on display that you can actually test before you buy them.

The consumer website below (Consumer Search) collects and consolidates reviews for all types of products and makes recommendations based on their analysis of various reviews.

Paragraphs 7-11 in the link below offer reviews of 5 color, laser, multifunction printers:

Here are some others with the features you want, although above your stated budget. (BE SURE TO CHECK OUT THE TOP AND BOTTOM OF EACH PAGE TO FIND SIMILAR ITEMS):

You may also want to look into Consumer Reports...the last time they reviewed a wide spectrum of printers was in their December 2009 issue. They also publish a yearly "Electronics Buying Guide" which includes printers. Both of these (the magazine and the Electronics Buying Guide) should be available at your local public library.

Or, for $5.95/month (auto-renewing, but you can cancel at any time), you can subscribe to their online version, which offers a full ratings/report on many types of printers (with many search filter options).

(After you get to the page, you'll need the subscription to see the full reports):

Hope this helps,
